A journey of a lifetime

J.Isaac Vasquez - Tai Chi Chuan and Chi kung, (Qi Gong) Master, with over 45 years of experience in many countries. Tai Chi Chuan is used in traditional Chinese medicine for in prevention therapies, work stress, as well as prevention of chronic diseases such as high pressure, diabetes, gastritis, arthritis, spine disorders, respiratory disorders, cardiovascular disorders, etc.

Besides the health benefits, Shifu Vasquez teaches Tai Chi self-defense courses using friendly methods in order to strengthen the mental and physical health. He is currently the President and Technical Director of the Latin American Association of Taichi-Chen Style.

Shifu Vasquez travels to China every year to enhance his Tai Chi level and broaden his knowledge of Chinese culture; his wish is to share his passion and appreciation for Tai Chi in the West. Since the beginning working as a Tai Chi and Qi Gong Instructor, he has conducted workshops, conferences and courses in Peru, Spain, Mexico, Bolivia and Japan and spread this valuable jewel of the Chinese culture among thousands of people.

  • Over 48 years of Japanese and Chinese Martial Arts practice, 48 of which in Tai Chi Chuan and 34 in Qi Gong (CHI KUNG).
  • Shifu Vasquez is currently focused on spreading the Tai Chi and Qi Gong of the Chen family.
  • Shifu Vasquez is Grand Master Chen Zhenglei´s direct disciple and President and Technical Director of the Latin American Association of Tai Chi Chuan, "Chen Style". This association counts on Grand Master CHEN ZHENGLEI´s guardianship and sponsorship.
    Grand Master CHEN ZHENG LEI is a member of the 19th generation of the Chen family´s direct descendants, who are recognized as the Tai Chi Chuan creators. Likewise, Grand Master Chen Zhenglei is regarded among the 10 most famous Kung Fu Masters in China.

  • Graduated from the two-year Diplomate Course of Physical Education at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru (Pontificia Católica University) in 2009
  • Speaker in Taichi and Chi Kung seminars in Japan, Spain, Mexico and Bolivia as well as speaker in regular courses in Peru.
  • Appointed Latin American Director of the Martial Art Kung Fu by the World Organization of Martial Arts in December, 2008
  • Participation in the "Elite Competition of Chen Village Tai Chi Training Centre of China" organized by Grand Master Chen Zhenglei, obtaining 1 Gold Medal in Lao Jia Yi Lu (First Routine of the Old Structure)
  • Obtaining the degree of Sixth Duan in Wushu by the Chinese Wushu Association in August, 2007. This degree is equivalent to Black Belt-Sixth Dan in the Japanese System of Martial Arts.
  • Obtaining the Coach Certificate-Intermediate Level by the Chen Village Tai Chi Training Centre of China, managed by Grand Master Chen Zhenglei in August, 2005
  • Participation in the "Elite Competition of Chen Village Tai Chi Training Centre of China" Organized by the Grand Master Chen Zhenglei, obtaining 2 Bronze Medals, one in Single Sword and the other one in Lao Jia Yi Lu (First Routine of the Old Structure) in 2004
  • National Champion in Peru in Tai Chi Chuan – Chen Style: 1998, 1999.
  • Six years of Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung practice in Japan: 1977-1981, and 1992-1993
